inMovement Competitive Teams

Philly InMovement’s Gymnastics Team consists of gymnasts competing in both the J.O. and Xcel programs. So far we offer J.O. Levels 3, 4 and 5 and Xcel Silver and Gold. Our gymnasts compete in 3 – 6 competitions a year from December to May. All of our team athletes have shown discipline, internal motivation, a desire to compete and an overall love for gymnastics. Team and Pre-Team practices require a higher level of focus and time commitment with greater emphasis on conditioning and routines than school aged intensive classes. All of these programs are invitation only.

Junior Olympic

The Junior Olympic program was developed with the belief that all athletes, regardless of their potential, must have a solid foundation of basic skills in order to advance safely. In J.O, there is a very specific mold that the gymnast is required to fit into, giuded by strict requirements. Gymnasts compete in Levels 3 to 10. Once a gymnast is proficient at their level and earn a qualifying score, they have the option to move up to the next level.

The Xcel Program is an alternative competitive program to the Junior Olympic program. It is designed to attract and retain a diverse group of athletes offering alternatives and flexibility to gymnasts and coaches. It provides gymnasts of varying abilities and commitment levels the opportunity for a rewarding and fun competitive gymnastics experience. Xcel gymnasts compete in the following levels: Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum, and Diamond.

Pre Team

The Pre-Team Program is a fast-track program that prepares young gymnasts for Philly InMovement’s Competitive Team. It is designed for talented gymnasts who show great potential in the sport and have the drive to compete. They must be ready to rise to the demands of the sport and work at a faster pace than in recreational classes.

Rec Team

Our Recreational Team is designed for our more advanced gymnasts that show ability, talent, and love for the sport and want to be challenged to progress but are not interested in a competitive atmosphere or cannot commit to our competitive team programming. New this year, we are offering an Alumni/Rec Team Day that invites past team athletes and current Rec Team participants the ability to practice with the team once a month.

Fast Track Program

Fast Track is a growing developmental program designed to progress some of our students to our Team at an accelerated pace. The program is invitation only and offered to students that have demonstrated exceptional skill progression, strength, and work ethic in our regular school aged and Short Wheelers classes. These classes are structured differently than a regular class. This allows for greater focus on the specific skills each child needs to advance, while also providing additional practice time. “Philly InMovement is the perfect place to bring your child for gymnastics classes and competition, if so desired.  They teach them not only gymnastics, but also to always try their best, be kind to others, and to listen. The staff are not only amazing gymnasts themselves, but are great teachers as well.  They use soft, nice words when correcting the children, or getting their attention, yet at the same time thoroughly explain everything they are doing and why.  Philly InMovement seems to have found the perfect balance between speaking “small child” and focused, serious, gymnastic classes.  They have a wonderful make-up class policy and I trust them with my child fully.  Overall, I could not have found a better place for my child to take gymnastics.”
